In the film Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an older model. I just finished watching Day of the Jackal and it has quickly become one of my favorite series. As a long-time film fan, I’ve seen a lot of thrillers, but this one really stands out.
Eddie Redmayne is absolutely brilliant as the Jackal
His portrayal of this cold, focused killer is captivating – he’s all about his job, completely dedicated to his mission. What really blew me away was how Redmayne made the character so intense yet controlled, his patience and focus making the Jackal both terrifying and oddly fascinating. Also, Lashana Lynch is incredible as the intelligence officer who tracks him down.
The atmosphere of the show, combined with their brilliant performances, feels almost cinematic
She brings the perfect balance of strength and intelligence, always one step behind but determined to catch up. Their performances together create this captivating game of cat and mouse that kept me engaged from start to finish. I can’t wait for next season – I don’t think I’ve felt such anticipation in a long time!
